Example: Mobile Use on OH Portal for January
Once BYOD is in place, it’s helpful to monitor usage in order to get a better understanding of how your students use their own technology (or, for that matter, how all technology is used in the district).
Two tools in particular can help paint a picture of usage.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics collects real time data on who is visiting your websites (for example, the portal), where they’re from, what operating system they’re using (mobile and desktop) and what browser they are using.
Piwik
If uncomfortable with Google collecting this data, you can also use Piwik. Piwik is an open-source program that collects the same type of data.
